Part 3 of the recording session for the Errant Space Podcast 99, Beacon, NY on April 18, 2023.
A very notable stop on my US tour in April 2023 was an invitation to play with composer and recording artist Craig Chin.
Craig is the creator of ERRANT SPACE, an ambient soundscape project that produces site-specific, spontaneous compositions. Craig also produces the monthly Errant Space podcast, which often features interesting experimental and electronic musicians.

I was a guest on Craig's 99th show. I met Craig at his beautiful and quite enchanting home in Beacon, New York, where we immediately started making sounds together. We spent the entire afternoon playing and recording three extensive sets.
Craig described our session as having a dream-like quality, floating through surreal, ever-changing environments.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Bernhard had asked me to make drawings for his three concerts with Craig Chin, on the subject of housework, an unusual metaphor: but of course, music is also reproduction.
I started sometime at the end of January with a picture of Craig and Bernhard vacuuming and wanted to invent/reconstruct the whole carpet, woven flowers and animals: wintry and laborious. That brought me into the usual realm of metaphors: Music as texture: all the elements woven together to create a diverse, complex tapestry of sound.
In February, dishes were washed, pink clouds rose from the bowls, the plates and bowls rang melodically. This comparison is rather rare: The sound elements jingle and clatter melodically, glass joins fork, plate joins trivet, the musicians clean them of food residue and make them shine.
It's now March and spring has come far too early, but of course we're enjoying it. Craig and Bernhard already douse our listening with their musical watering cans and a blossom sprouts here, a flower grows there, the grass is already high. We are dealing with the image of the sound garden through which we acoustically stroll.
All three illustrations are deliberately quite concrete, the musicians cooperate with vacuum cleaners, kitchen sinks and watering cans, tangible things that even produce their own sounds, but none that are directly reflected in the music. However, the way they deal with them is suitable as an image of improvised cooperation." - Christine Kriegerowski

Bernhard Wöstheinrich elicits meaning from abstraction in electronic music and painting. He has studied graphic design and
has created an eclectic body of work in both graphics and music.
Bernhard speaks in his own musical voice; the musical arc of his work often moves from the curiously beautiful to the beautifully curious....more

I am fascinated by these evolving soundscapes that Markus employs to excellent effect . Listening in a darkened room enhances the emotional impact of this album. Nick Bradey
